How do I search the Community Service Directory (CSD)?
To search the CSD, select 'Search' from the
left-hand menu. In this page enter the terms you wish to find in the
appropriate fields and click 'Submit' to search.
You can search for organisations using any of the following fields:

Category – The type of service (see What do the service categories mean?)

State – The state in which the organisation is based
-
Postcode – The postcode area in which the organisation is either based or
receives mail

Surrounding areas – You may select services within a number of kilometres of
the postcode area

Organisation name – The name or partial name of the organisation
-
Town/Suburb – the town or suburb in which the organisation is based

Phone number – The phone number of the organisation

How do I provide feedback about the CSD?
Select 'Feedback' from the left-hand menu and
complete the feedback form.
When finished select 'Send Feedback' to send your feedback to
CSA for review.
Note: The CSA does not regularly reply to feedback submitted
through the CSD feedback form. The CSA will contact you if further information
is required to address your feedback.

How do I update an organisation’s details?
Use the search page to find the organisation you
wish to update. On the page displaying the organisation's details, select the
'Update' button. This opens the update page at the 'Address' screen.
Make all necessary changes to the organisation's details and select 'Next'
to view and edit the next screen.
Repeat this process until you reach the 'Other Details' screen.
In this final screen, enter your contact name and phone number. This
information may be used by CSA to contact you to confirm the changes.
Select the 'Finish' button to send the updated information to
the CSA for final review.
Please note that the CSA reviews and must approve all updated information
before it goes live in the CSD website to help ensure that changes are correct
and have been provided by a legitimate representative of your organisation.
It may take up to five days before your organisation's updated details are
visible within the CSD.

How do I add an organisation to the CSD?
To add an organisation select
'Add organisation' from the left-hand menu. This opens a page where you
can enter the details for an organisation.
Enter all necessary information for the organisation in the Address screen,
then select 'Next' to view and edit the next screen.
Repeat this process until you reach the 'Other Details' screen. In this final
screen, enter your contact name and phone number. This information may be used
by CSA to contact you to confirm the changes.
Select the 'Finish' button to send the information to the CSA
for final review.
Please note that the CSA reviews and must approve all new organisation
information before it goes live in the CSD website to help ensure that it is
correct and has been provided by a legitimate representative of your
organisation.
It may take up to five days before your organisation's details are visible
within the CSD.

How do I remove an organisation from the CSD?
Find the organisation you want to delete via the search. On the page
displaying the organisation's details, click the 'Delete' button.
You will be asked to provide your contact name and phone number. This
information may be used by CSA to contact you to confirm the changes.
Select the 'Finish' button to send the information to the CSA
for final review.
Please note that the CSA reviews and must approve all deleted information
before it is removed from the CSD website. This helps ensure changes are
correct and have been provided by a legitimate representative of your
organisation.
It may take up to five days before your organisation's details are removed
from the CSD.

| Children and Teenagers |
Any service aimed at helping children, including youth services and
adolescent services. Also includes childcare. |
| Contact services |
Listing of child handover points. |
| Counselling |
Services providing general counselling, psychology, one-on-one therapy, grief
counselling, anger counselling and similar support. |
| Family Relationship Centres |
Offer information and advice to families at all stages of their life. The
Centres offer individual, group and joint sessions to help separating families
make workable arrangements for the care of their children, without having to go
to court. |
| Family support |
Services providing support to families including social workers, home
visitations, drop-in services, community houses and Neighbourhood Centres. |
| Financial |
Services providing financial and budgeting advice, including debt management,
taxation and gambling. |
| Family violence |
Services providing support to people experiencing violence within the family. |
| Housing |
Services providing emergency accommodation, long and short term
accommodation, rental assistance and similar support. |
| Health services |
Family health, drug and alcohol services. |
| Legal |
Services providing legal advice such as Community Legal Centres, Legal Aid
Commissions and the Courts. |
| Indigenous support services |
Services providing support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
families. |
| Mediation |
Services providing mediation and conflict resolution. |
| Information and referral |
Services not included in other categories – specifically those providing
information or referral services, advocacy and dealing with Government
agencies. |
| Men's support groups |
Services and programs specifically for men including support and lobby groups
(such as DADS). |
| Multicultural support services |
Services providing support services for families from diverse linguistic and
cultural backgrounds. |
| National/State help lines |
National telephone support services. |
| Relationship and parenting |
Training courses/workshops/seminars dealing with parenting skills,
marriage/relationship education and repartnering programs. |
| Translation |
Translation and interpreter services such as contact numbers for the hearing
impaired. |
| Welfare and emergency |
Services providing food, clothing and other welfare and emergency support. |
| Women's support groups |
Services and programs specifically for women including support and lobby
groups (i.e. Woman's Electoral Lobby). |
